15 Years...

...of Living Together

Last night mad redo1 and his roomey celebrated their 15 years together.

The usual cliche "How time flies" is applicable here, considering it seems just like yesterday (another cliche) that he just said his aqad to end his single roving days.

As everything in life, the fifteen years are not without ups and downs. For that mad redo1 is very thankful to have found someone that complement his life while he tries his best to ensure the favour is returned.

There are quite a number of things we share our passion and one of them is cooking. Thus we decided the best way to celebrate the 15 years is to cook our own dinner instead of having someone else do it for us.

Furthermore, it is much better to have food prepared in the name of love and for someone you loved, while feeling the love in the food prepared by the love of your life.

Thus for our 15 years celebration dinner, mad redo1 cooked the fish and chicken: pan-frying the salmon to (his term of) perfection while the marinated chicken breasts were grilled (though in reality they were pan-fried too).

The roomey meanwhile prepared the pasta and the #2 AKS lent a hand by preparing the salad in thousand islands dressing.

It was a simple dinner, shared in joy and happiness marking a very important landmark in our life as a family.

To the next fifteen years... and beyond!

Note: mad redo1 apologizes for the quality of the photos, he left the big guns at his office thus used the phone camera and the deploy the AKS to snap these moments.

Shredded to Sleep

It is always a favourite past-time of mad redo1 watching his off-springs while they are sleeping. Each with their own way of inducing themselves to sleep.

However with the third AKS, she differed from her older sisters. The latter would have their own 'bantal busuk' or 'blankie' to accompany them. With the second AKS it was the edge of the 'bantal busuk' that became her favourite spot, twisting and kneading and before you know it, she was fast asleep.

Lisa on the other hand prefers the soft tissues which she would shred apart to small pieces before finally settling for one which she would knead and twist until she too enter the land of dreams.

Life is so fascinating, if you bother to look at these little things.

Fourth Spot...

...for the AG:eing

Team AG:eing returned to the waters off Pulau Duyong as they competed in the Heritage Bay Cup for the second time (though the core of the team did compete as Team Omega in March this year). The initial objective was not to finish last as we did the first time around.

It was a good sign when mad redo1 drew the Ri-Yaz Heritage boat that came with tactician, Nik Ashraf Qaedi who helped Hazwan Hazim Dermawan to the final of the recent Malaysian Match Racing Championship.

After a brief training session the team took a break for Friday prayers and later assembled at the marina for the qualifying rounds. Unfortunately, Mat Ming could not make it back due to a death in his family.

Then it was off to the waters and after a few tacks and jives the race was on.

After two rounds of the course, Team AG:eing came in fifth in the first race but put a strong performance in the second race and found themselves finishing second behind a team called Pink Piranhas.

Perhaps we got carried away with that performance and suffered a lapse of concentration which cost us a good start to Race 3. We recovered but only managed to finish seventh. Everybody then got serious and the last two races saw us finishing fifth and third respectively.

When the results came out and there we were, at fourth which elated us to no end. We are hoping to get a better placing or better yet get our hands on the trophy for real in future editions which would give our aging body a big boost.

Congratulations everybody!

Sudden...

...Silence Part 2

As usual Lisa is always full of exuberance, running around and playing with almost anything she can lay her hands on.

With all the running and jumping she is bound to feel tired but it would take a long time for her to run out of battery.

Then it is time for her to recharge.

Alhamdulillah, she does not make it difficult for us, just a simple request "Nok shu..." (wants milk) and a piece of tissue in a comfortable position, she would soon fall asleep.

Just like this picture.

Sudden...

...Silence

I was driving the other day with AKS#1 at the back.

Our conversation was as usual, with her mouth doing the talking and her fingers texting sms-es to God knows who (the frequency of her sms alerts could be quite irritating at times).

Then everything fell silence.

Why?

The rear-view mirror revealed the reason.

What could you do?

Just get the camera out and snap away...

Iftar at Shahbandar

Today's Iftar was a new experience for mad redo1 and the rest of the gang. For the first time he broke his fast at the Taman Shahbandar together with a group of photo enthusiasts from the Facebook group: Fotografi Jalanan Terengganu, and also hundreds of other Muslims who decided to revel in the peaceful moment before Iftar.

Together with Linda and the AKSes we opened the spread on the grass and invited others to join in. The road leading to the park was quite jammed but after a while we managed to find a parking spot and made our way to the gathering area.

By that time there were already hundreds of people but luckily for us there were other members who had arrived earlier and loosely marked our area.

The sound of the artillery fire marked the end of the fasting time here in kT. It has been the standard practice since the days of yore and gives the city something unique. Of course, being out in the open it sounded louder.

Everybody got down to the serious business of eating though mad redo1 managed to snap a few photos of the moment when nothing else matter except filling the empty stomach with foods and drinks.

For mad redo1, a couple glasses of water would be sufficient enough and the heavy meals can come in later. However, it was easier said than done as it was quite difficult to say NO to the delicious spread that have been laid in front of you.

Perhaps it was a good thing the new experience coincided with mad redo1 celebrating his 42nd year on this earth according to the Hijrah calendar. Of course according to the Gregorian one, mad redo1 will only turn 41 in November.

The gathering lasted until the last food was munched down the throat. It was certainly a good experience and one that could be repeated again before the Ramadhan ends in just under ten days time.
